Anyone who does physical exercises regularly has in one way or another, experienced shin splints. This happens when the muscles and tendons suddenly tear out because of overextension or sudden impact. Athletes also experience this type of problem and therefore must be addressed immediately. For shin splints treatment, you can do several massage techniques in order to soothe the aching muscles and regenerate muscle growth quickly. If you obtained an injury, you must take a lot of rest and put some ice packs on the swollen area. Try these massages to quicken the healing process and alleviate pain.
You can easily do an ice water method at home. Go to your bathtub and fill it with cold water. Make sure that it goes over above your ankles. Put some ice cubes in the bathtub and wait for the water to properly chill before soaking on it. Once the water is cold enough, soak your feet and ankles for about 10-15 minutes. Now stretch your toes away from your body. Slowly point it back in and bring it close to your body. Continue doing this for 10 more minutes so treating shin splints will be more effective. You can also try an electric massager. Choose to sit down on a couch or a chair and spread your legs out. You can place pillow underneath your knees for additional support. Now get your electric massager and move it slowly to your shins. Make sure that it is slow speed without turning on the heat function. Continue massaging for 10 minutes and your shins will be properly mended.
